My sale findings...

This is the magic dress (plus shoes and belt) my parents bought me from the sales... Love the colour!
The first picture shows just how bad I am at taking pictures of myself (I would be a useless fashion blogger!) ... so I got some help from D in the second one...

My new shoes

My parents took me xmas sale shopping - aginst my will!! (not true) Jokes aside (this is serious stuff, we're talking about shopping), we hit the shops, mainly one shop which is mine and my mom's favourite shop - Reiss. My parents actually knew the location of the Reiss super mega store - I didn't and I live here!!! Needless to say, when I saw the shopping paradise before me, I thought: I can't hurt to look. Next thing I knew I was trying on dress after dress and falling in love with all of them! I came out of the shop with 2 amazing dresses, a belt  and one pair of shoes.

My parents bought me one of the dresses (amazing blue one) with a matching belt and the pair of shoes as late xmas presents. Tack så mycket!! Domo Arigatou!! Muchas Gracias!! Thanks very much!!

I bought an LBD (=Little Black Dress) for myself, because every girl needs to have one!!! (as if I didn't already have many!!). I am so happy!

The shoes are really cute aren't they?! I think it was meant to be as their name is "The Chrissie".

My new babies are both called Jimmy... Jimmy Choo

Meet my new friend Jimmy
When I heard about the collaboration between my favourite high street store H&M (Swedish, of course!!) I was thrilled, but at the same time I thought - "oh no! I'm definitely not going to be the only one thrilled about that!!". Thought the queues on Oxford Street here in London would be massive and having to fight with eager teenagers about the cool stuff wasn't anything I felt tempted to do. As any collection with H&M and a famous designer, I assumed it would be gone in notime so I accepted the fact that I wouldn't get my hands on any of the items even before the collection was launched...

But there is a BUT - I went home to Sweden over the weekend and to my big surprise, there was a lot left in the stores from the collection one week after the launch and it wasn't even crowded! They must have been stocking up in the home town of H&M. I was amazed. I quickly laid my eyes on a pair of shoes that I fell in love with - sure, they were more expensive than the regular H&M collection, but much cheaper than the regular Jimmy Choo collection!! My wonderful parents were there and of course, and my mom wanted to spoil me a little and she bought the shoes and a little coin purse for me - also from JimmyChoo by H&M(!!!). That made my day, week and months to come. How can a pair of shoes bring so much joy into a person's life?!! Thanks Mom for the shoes and thanks Dad for being a moral shopping support!

Summer has begun

What's the most summery thing you can do? Put flowers up your nose!!!!

Oh so sweet!!! Summer is definitely here in the sense that I can start enjoying it doing something else than studying for the CFA. Yay! My tan is non existent which is why I have had to seek help in self tanning cremes lately, but now - I'm going to work on a REAL tan. No too much, just the kind of tan that will get focus off my study pimples and make me look less like a dead person.

To kick start summer, as I have mentioned earlier, M and V will come to London town to salute the Queen and to visit us, of course. First things on our to do list:

1. Shopping

2. Have some Earl Grey tea & biscuits with the Queen

3. Dance till we can't dance no more - in a cool night club

4. Chill out in a nice park

Now folks, how does that sound? SWEET!!!

A sign of wisdom

I had a new experience on Monday. It wasn't pleasant but it wasn't all bad either. A special experience...

It was a bank holiday for us here in the UK so me and D were just relaxing (I studied hard for a bit as well). We decided to go to a shopping centre close to where we live, for some retail therapy. David was looking for a suit and while he was speaking with an attendant I was browsing the store for something interesting for me... When I walked past a mirror and tried to fix my hair a bit (it was a mess), I spotted something that wasn't there before: My first grey hair!! Jeezus!! I pulled it off my head and looked at it. "is it grey, white or just blond?" I was thinking to myself: "Best case scenario: it is blonde" but I soon came to my senses and faced the harsh reality: I have never been blonde in my life - naturally, that is, and I never will be either - the damned hair is white! I am officially getting old!

I walked around the shopping centre for 10 minutes with that strand of hair in my hand. I even asked D three times, if he thought the hair was blond or white and the poor thing thought it was one of these questions that women ask like "do I look fat?", so he said "Of course It's blond darling!!" all 3 times. Bless him... But I know it's white and I know it's not going to be the last one... I'll take it as a sign of wisdom. Mensa here I come!

Shopomania!

Yesterday, me and D decided to give the (semi) new shopping centre in London a go. Westfield shopping centre in Sheperd's Bush (West London) is not an ordinary shopping centre - it's the biggest one in Europe - al estilo Americano. And "Oh my!" is it big! If you like shopping (most women do) this is a dangerous place. You could get stuck there!

Me and D wandered around in amazement. It was a shopper's paradise. Ironically enough, the shopping mall opened up just as the credit crunch was taking a big bite out of the British GDP and unemployment figures started sky rocketing. Despite this fact, the mall was a success. Yesterday I could see why: There is something there for everyone! Rich or poor, your or old no matter what your taste in clothes or other products is...

I also had some time over to say hi to my dear friend - the Prada bag (Yes there is a Prada store there...and Louis Vuitton, Dior etc etc!!!!).

It was retail heaven. I'm happy we don't live anywhere close to that mall!!!

Shopping in Stockholm

Tomorrow I'm leaving Stockholm for the Spanish island of Mallorca, so I said good bye to Stockholm in the best way: Shopping pieces of it and taking them with me!! Today was a perfect day to be out. The weather was great - a bit chilly but very sunny. My shopping companions of the day were my parents.

The best pieces of clothing I found in a second hand shop in Östermalm (a posh part of Stockholm): A pair of Acne Jeans that barely had been used (pictured) and an Armani suit!!!

The suit was so cool because it was probably from the late 80s!! I'm talking shoulder pads - even though they were pretty small. It's like a blast from the past! Just check out the business suits Melanie Griffiths wore in the 80's classic "Working Girl" and you will get a rough idea of mine, although mine is a bit more toned down..... The jacket is a bit longer than "regular" jackets and is perfect with my new jeans!! The best part was the price! It was very good value for money! My parents gave me the suit as a present. Thanks Mom and Dad!!!
