Not a fat guy with a beard in a red suit. I think it makes sense, but the only thing is that you have to wait for so long before you get your presents! You want them when the holidays begin - not when they end!!!
By the way, the names of the 3 wise men were Caspar, Melchior and Balthasar (that's what they are called in the west, but they have different names in some other countries).
